The state of Michigan is home to more than 660,000 veterans and the citizens of the state are extremely supportive of them. Which is why, it comes as no surprise that a new legislation to boost Veteran employment was introduced by Michigan State Senator Patrick Colbeck. Under the legislation Veteran Owned Businesses and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business can expect to receive more procurement opportunities going forward.
Colbeck sat down with the Michigan Chronicle to give more insight into the state efforts to help Veterans. “The citizens of Michigan owe a debt of gratitude to those who have served and sacrificed so much to defend the freedoms we hold dear. When the State of Michigan purchases goods and services from Veteran-Owned Businesses on behalf of our citizens, it helps our veterans find and maintain employment and business opportunities as they return home from their service and re-enter society.”
