Diversity has always been at the core of Well Fargo values

Wells Fargo has received a lot of bad press over the past few months due to a class-action lawsuit over two million fake accounts and $110 million in lost income.  But despite this error, there are some good points to the company.  When it comes to diversity in the workforce, for example, the bank does a phenomenal job of maintaining an inclusive culture.

“We’re trying to be a bank that is reflective of the communities in which we serve,” said Lesa Jarding, community development officer. Diversity is something that isn’t overlooked at the bank, it is taken seriously and vital to corporate values.

The Team Member Networks is a part of the aims the bank takes to bring minority groups to an array of different departments. In order to retain and attract diverse talents, the bank not only focuses on their employees but they also reach out to the local community at large.  The Argus Leader provides some examples of how Wells Fargo reaches out the community to attract diverse talent. “For example, the LGBT employee group at Wells Fargo partners with the Center for Equality to help put on the Sioux Falls Pride event in June. Similarly, the Latin Connections group volunteers for the Cinco de Mayo festival in Falls Park each May.”

Diversity and inclusion are at the core of Wells Fargo and that has led the bank to success.
