The Unemployment rate declined to 4.5 percent in the month of March

by Ray Hayes

The Bureau of Labor Statistics recently reported that the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percent from April to March to 4.5 percent. According to the report, “Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult women (4.0 percent), Whites (3.9 percent), and Hispanics (5.1 percent) declined in March. The jobless rates for adult men (4.3 percent), teenagers (13.7 percent), Blacks (8.0 percent), and Asians (3.3 percent) showed little or no change.”

First and foremost, I would like to say thank President Donald Trump for making this happen……!

All jokes aside, this is great news for the job market. Unfortunately for the retail trade market, there was a reported lost. With Amazon and online retail steadily growing, we could possibly see a lot more retail trade job loss. On the good side, employment increased in professional and business services and mining.
